Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 14 April 2025 · Effective Date: 14 April 2025
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the website at teguhadv.info operated by Teguh Advocates ("the Firm", "we", "us"). By accessing this website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of this website.
1. Nature of Website Content
The content published on this website is provided for general informational purposes only. Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice, and no solicitor-client relationship is formed by reading, browsing, or submitting an enquiry through this website.
Civil procedure, limitation periods, filing requirements, and court fees are subject to change. While we endeavour to keep information current, you should not rely on any procedural or cost information on this website without first obtaining specific written advice from a qualified advocate.
2. No Solicitor-Client Relationship
A solicitor-client relationship with Teguh Advocates is formed only upon execution of a written Letter of Engagement signed by an authorised advocate of the Firm and the client, and upon payment of any required fee deposit specified in that engagement letter.
Submission of an enquiry or matter narrative through this website does not constitute retention of the Firm, does not create any duty of care, and does not impose any obligation on the Firm to respond, advise, or act.
3. Limitation Periods and Time-Sensitive Matters
Please note: Civil claims in Malaysia are subject to statutory limitation periods under the Limitation Act 1953 and related statutes. These periods vary depending on the cause of action and may be shortened by contractual terms. If you believe your matter may be time-sensitive, you should seek legal advice promptly rather than relying on enquiry through this website.
The Firm accepts no responsibility for any claim that becomes time-barred while you are considering whether to engage legal representation.
4. Service Descriptions and Pricing
Service descriptions and indicative pricing published on this website are provided to assist prospective clients in understanding the general scope and cost structure of the Firm's engagements. They do not constitute a firm offer, a quotation, or a binding fee agreement.
| Service | Indicative Fee (RM) | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-Action Advisory & Demand Correspondence | RM 1,500 | Fixed, subject to engagement letter |
| Commercial Disputes — Sessions & High Court | RM 3,300 | Stage-based, subject to engagement letter |
| Appeals & Judicial Review | RM 5,400 | Stage-based, subject to engagement letter |
The fees above do not include court filing fees, disbursements, witness expenses, or other out-of-pocket costs, which are set by the courts and relevant authorities and are charged separately. Actual fees for a specific matter will be confirmed in writing before any work commences.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, structure, design, and procedural guides — is the intellectual property of Teguh Advocates and is protected under Malaysian copyright law. You may print or save portions of this website for your own personal reference in connection with a potential matter.
You may not reproduce, republish, adapt, or commercially exploit any content from this website without the Firm's prior written consent.
6. Third-Party Links
This website may contain links to external resources, including court websites, the Malaysian Bar portal, and statutory databases. These links are provided for convenience only. The Firm does not endorse, control, or accept responsibility for the content, accuracy, or availability of any external resource.
7. Enquiry Submissions and Confidentiality
Information submitted through the Matter Narrative or enquiry form on this website is treated with discretion. However, submission of information through an unencrypted web form does not, of itself, create a duty of confidentiality on the part of the Firm and does not constitute privileged communication unless and until a formal engagement is established.
Please do not submit documents that you consider sensitive until you have spoken with a member of the Firm and confirmed a secure transmission method.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable Malaysian law, the Firm excludes all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, information published on this website. This includes, without limitation, any inaccuracy in procedural descriptions, court fee schedules, or limitation period information.
This exclusion does not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or breach of any implied statutory terms.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from your use of this website is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, and you irrevocably submit to that jurisdiction.
10. Amendments
The Firm reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Amendments take effect upon publication on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the website following any amendment constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
